Samsung launches smartphone with curved display screen Samsung Electronics, the world's best-selling smartphone maker, has launched a handset with a curved display screen. Called the Galaxy Round , the smartphone will feature a 5.7in (14.5cm) display. The launch comes just days after rival LG said it would begin production of curved-screen phones next year. Samsung said the curved screen display would help consumers use some of the features on the phone, including those that enable users to check information such as date, time and missed calls when home screen is off, with more ease. These phones may not be a game-changer today, but they are definitely an indication of things to come” At the same time, users can also change music tracks on their phone, even while its display is off. A survey has shown that locally manufactured footwear now attracts higher patronage than foreign ones. The survey, carried out on Wednesday, shows that in the past three months Nigerian-made footwears, particularly slippers, were highly preferred. Their design is simple, it is easy to use them. The survey also showed that the local products were relatively cheaper than imported ones. A manufacturer of footwears confessed that he had improved the quality and design of his products to make them more competitive. Better days are here again i guess!!

FOOTBALL: FIFA Rankings: Brazil at Historic Low No. 22, the Super Eagles ranked 31st

Brazil has dropped to a historic low of No. 22 in the FIFA rankings a year out from hosting the World Cup, and the Super Eagles are now on the 31st position, despite a win against Kenya on Wednesday. The Eagles are still fourth in Africa behind the Ivory Coast, Ghana and Mali. World and European champion Spain stays top. Germany, Argentina and Croatia are next. The Netherlands rises four spots to No. 5. England drops two to No. 9. Portugal (No. 6), Colombia (No. 7), Italy (No. 8) and Ecuador (No. 10) round out the top 10. According to FIFA, the results of 30 friendlies up to 2 June were taken into account, while the results of the FIFA World Cup qualification matches on 4 June are to be included in the next edition. The next FIFA World Ranking will be published on July 4, 2013.
